Design Phase:
Characterize a target audience; design unification, construct an identity for the web site; Feature lists; Iteration length, estimate work, Priorities and allocate features, make design decisions about layout, color, organization, and content; and finally mock up a design and customer for approval.
Depends on size of project each iteration will have Planning/Analysis | Design | Coding | Testing | Releasable
Release planning by Iteration, Establish project success criteria, Estimate web site features, Choose iteration length and velocity and prioritize features, Choose feature list and set release date.
Building Phase:
Convert the website mock-up into a functional web page. create and optimize web graphics; organize content in visually pleasing ways; add dynamic capabilities to the pages with programming languages when warranted; all the pages on the site look good and function well in a variety of browsers, as well as other web-enabled devices, as the pages are being built.
Testing Phase:
Test the design on a remote host or testing server in the most popular browsers platforms in the most popular operating systems, at a variety of monitor resolutions; also test on web-enabled devices, such as smartphones and tablets; validate the code; fix coding errors; and otherwise ensure that each visitor can navigate through the site with no technical problems.
Site Launch:
Register a domain and secure a hosting plan, upload the site's files to a host server, retest the site, and be ready to maintain the site post-launch. Launch the site by submitting the URL to search engines. If desired, post to social media accounts and send out press releases, newsletters, and e-mails announcing the launch.
